My Approach
Therapy can sometimes feel like building a house.
We start by laying a solid foundation, working out your goals, values, and what matters to you. The first step is an initial conversation where we talk about what’s been going on, explore whether we’d work well together, and give you space to ask questions or share your hopes for therapy. It’s an informal, straightforward process to help you get a sense of what to expect.
If we decide to continue, we’ll do a more in-depth assessment. This is about looking closely at what’s brought you to this point, exploring your history, your strengths, and what you’d like to change. From there, we start putting the framework together, focusing on the things that feel most important to you.
Therapy, like construction, isn’t about rushing to get it done. It’s about creating something that feels steady and meaningful, taking it step by step. We’ll set clear goals together, but they’ll stay flexible and open to adjustment. Whether it’s managing stress, building confidence, or finding your way through life’s challenges, the aim is to keep the work focused on what you need and where you want to go.
Sessions are a space for reflection, understanding, and practical steps forward. As we work together, there may be moments to pause and adjust, whether that’s reinforcing what’s already in place or shifting focus as needed. This regular process of checking in ensures we’re on track, making progress, and staying flexible to what feels right for you.
Ending therapy can feel like settling into a new home. It’s a time to reflect on the work we’ve done, acknowledge what you’ve achieved, and prepare to take things forward. While the foundations are solid and the structure is ready, it’s your space to continue shaping and adapting as life moves on. You’ll leave therapy with tools and insights to help you grow, face challenges, and approach what lies ahead with greater confidence.
Working online means sessions can happen wherever you feel most at ease, creating a space that feels comfortable and convenient for you. This flexibility allows therapy to fit naturally into your life, helping you feel connected and supported throughout the process.
